Students in North Rockland’s Project Life summer program were recognized recently for their work on the reconstruction of the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial at Bowline Point Park. The re-dedication of the memorial was held on Thursday, August 14th and was attended by state, county and local dignitaries.
Under the direction of Project Life teacher Gina Tedesco, the students worked over the summer to restore the monument that was severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The monument the students reconstructed recognizes North Rocklanders who served in Vietnam.
In their acknowledgment of the students, both Town Supervisor Howard Phillips and Superintendent Ileana Eckert spoke of the strong commitment to community that exists in North Rockland.
